Patience When we practice patience in a relationship, we are able to sit with the flow of things. We can be present with our own challenges and emotions as well as those of the other person. Compassion Another element of mindfulness in relationships is compassion. Compassion connects us to the understanding that we share our humanity with all others. Understanding Understanding is not present in every moment of a relationship, but when we are committed to our mindfulness practice, we have a genuine desire to understand. We are willing to expand away from our personal perspective to get a sense of what another person sees, thinks, or feels. Enhanced self-awareness and awareness of others Mindfulness can also help us to become more aware of our own conditioned belief systems and habitual ways of acting. Perhaps we tend to ignore our partner when we are tired or perhaps, we feel frustration when our partner has a different opinion. Mindfulness increases our awareness of things, enabling us to begin shifting how we respond and how we hold space for others’ opinions and perspectives. It allows us to be more conscious of our environment and make better choices in life.

It’s about what cannot help erupt from that very still state that sees to the healed root and addresses nothing else. Remember, though, that you can still soothe the toddler with what they really need - love and connection - even while you refuse to agree with their pain... Yes, that is true. The translation literally means “dark/light” or “negative/positive.” You may have noticed this, but in the West we like to oversimplify beautiful Eastern philosophies into neatly packaged items that work for our language and culture, so many people often equate “Yin” with “feminine” and “Yang” with “masculine.” In every romantic or sexual relationship, there must be polarity; a balance of yin energy and yang energy. It doesn’t matter your gender identity or sexual orientation; polarity is what creates attraction. If we’re embodying more of the yin energy, we’re going to attract someone who is more yang (at that time – we all fluctuate.) If we’re more yang in the moment, we’ll attract someone who is more yin. It means that we need to first become aware of what the hell we’re actually doing. Am I embodying yin energy or yang energy? Is my partner polarizing to me, doing the opposite? Many of us can relate to scenarios in which one partner is being parental; that is, being instructive, superior, or even disciplinary in their style of relating. They may offer a lot of advice or assistance based on a general inclination to take care of or direct the other person. Conversely, the partner in a more childish role may cry, fall apart, or use passive-aggressive strategies to get their way.. It’s easy to see how either person caught up in one side of this dynamic would trigger the other, creating a painful repetitive cycle. The best thing to do in this case is to catch on to the pattern itself and recognize the ways we perpetuate the cycle by playing out our half of it. To do this, we should look at the specific behaviors associated with the parent-child dynamic, as well as the behavior we should strive for to enjoy an equal relationship. Childish or submissive vs. the parental or dominant The most basic tendency in this pattern is for the parental person to feel the need to control the other and for the person in a more childish mode to feel dominated. The goal, of course, should be equality, with each person valuing the other’s autonomy, individuality, and independence. Passive and dependent vs. driven and compulsive A person in a childish role will often be more passive and dependent, looking to be directed by others or to be taken care of by their partner. A parental partner may be more likely to push themselves and others to achieve what they “should.” This is often done in a driven and critical way that can feel controlling. The aim of both individuals, rather, should be to be proactive and self-assertive in their own lives and goals, thinking ahead and going after what they want. Defensive and angry vs. rigid and righteous It’s helpful for both people to try to remain non-defensive and open toward each other. In an adult-mode, both people are curious and willing to explore input from their partner, and both welcome constructive criticism that can help them grow individually and in their relationship. These are self-limiting beliefs… assumptions you’re making and thoughts you’ve accepted or taken for granted that are getting in your own way. Identifying limiting beliefs is not something you do once and then you’re done. This is a lifelong activity, that will get smoother with practice and awareness. The beliefs you have will be unique to you. They’re based on your personal history, life experiences, the cultural messages you’ve been exposed to and the assumptions you’ve made through the journey of life Identifying YOUR limiting beliefs about love and relationships Now it’s your turn to write your own list of self-limiting beliefs. Allow half an hour of undisturbed, private time. Get a pen and paper and sit down somewhere comfortable. Allow yourself to settle into the moment. If you meditate, you might like to do that first. Take 5 deep breaths to help you tune into your body and let go of tension. However, still do the actual writing down part!! Once you write down one belief, it helps underlying beliefs bubble up to your consciousness so you can become more aware of the deeper layers. There is no right or wrong here. Don’t worry about whether it’s actually true for you or not. This is a brainstorm. Just get all the possibilities down on the page to get the thoughts flowing and out of your mind. Next to a limiting belief write a positive belief and replace the old one with the new belief, which resonates with you. - Examples: - Real love is a fairy tale and doesn’t exist in real life. - Real life is much more exciting and gratifying! - I am not good enough to be loved - I am just good enough to love and be loved like everyone else. - I’m not attractive enough to be loved – There are many people there and they all have unique vision what is attractive! - I’m boring – I am exciting and fun when I am inspired and know what I want! - No one likes me. – Everyone likes you when you allow them to! - You can’t trust men. (Just an opinion)– Men are wonderful and kind! - Women are crazy (just an opinion). -Women are lovely and warm! - I’m not good with men/women. – I am good with people I like and accept! - The one’s I like, don’t like me back. – There are many more to search from! There is no failure, only research! - I can’t find the One. – You sure can! What is your next step? The first step of this process is becoming aware of your beliefs. Sometimes awareness itself is enough to shift things for you. Awareness might spark insights that you never saw before and this can, itself, change your future thinking and behavior. Sometimes it happens instantly, and sometimes gradually – as you become increasingly aware of all the ways this belief is coming up in your life.

While it may feel very counter-intuitive, it’s very important that you allow yourself to work through negative feelings when they arrive. It can be scary at first. But they just need to pass through. REFLECT ON THE GOOD Positive thinking is more than just lovely, it actually affects your mindset. For real! Exposing yourself to things that uplift you and thinking about the positive helps your mind see more possibilities. Taking a moment or two to focus on the good, especially when you’re feeling down, can be magnificently uplifting. Use meditation, journaling, expressing thankfulness. 4. TAP INTO JOYFUL MOVEMENT If you’re feeling up for it, exercise can really help to boost your mood. But it’s even better when you make it fun and indulge in a form of movement that brings you joy. Choose something that you really like. It doesn’t matter exactly what it is. Yoga, strength training, walking or just shaking your body in while dancing to your favorite music s are all valid forms of movement. As is anything else that may come to mind. Whatever gets that beautiful body moving and makes you happy is worth it. Joyful movement can do so much for your physical and mental well-being. 5.TAKE SOME SLOW, DEEP BREATHS Essentially, deep, belly breathing elicits a relaxation response. And all you need to do is breath in deeply and slowly through your nose, filling your lungs and making your belly rise. 6. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF YOUR WAY Ultimately, whatever actions or activities lift you up and bring you joy matter. When it comes to self-care, there really are no rules. And there is no one size fits all either. It’s just about responding to your own personal needs and prioritizing what works best for you. So if something always lifts you up, or if it feels right in the moment, go for it. Even if it isn’t on the list for your things to do.. You know yourself and what works for you best. Do whatever feels right. When you take care of yourself, you also connect with yourself. And a better connection with yourself helps you to prioritize the self-care that works best for you.

Dominating something or someone, having dominant influence and having superior strength are not factors of power but factors of force, Force always creates a counter force. It is when you are tapped in and tunes into the higher faculties of the mind and when spirit is in charge (as opposed to the ego). With power, things are accomplished without force and without trying too hard. It stems from that effortless flow when you are truly connected to your higher self and the power of creation in the universe. When you have a vibrational match with someone the sum is greater than the total. There is power because there is no desire to dominate another and the main goal is harmony, collaboration, and it is what is often referred to by mystics as unity consciousness. When businesses and partnerships accomplish extraordinary success, it comes from being in a vibrational match. Being in a vibrational match to someone allows you to be on the same ‘vibe’ as that person and when you are on the same vibe people naturally feel like you understand them and that you are ‘like them’. What’s even more fascinating is that when you are on a higher vibration than someone else you may not necessarily be a vibrational match but you will actually create a bigger attractive force to you because of that.
